Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care

Dear Gleam jewellery is thoughtfully designed to be worn and enjoyed. Fine and delicate jewellery requires appropriate care to preserve its appearance, structure and beauty over time.

Wearing Your Jewellery

To help prevent accidental damage:

  • Avoid pulling, twisting or applying pressure to delicate pieces.

  • Take care to prevent jewellery from catching on clothing, towels or hair.

  • Remove jewellery before exercising, sleeping, swimming or completing household tasks.

  • Put jewellery on after applying perfume, hairspray, makeup, moisturiser or other beauty products.

  • Avoid wearing jewellery during activities where it may be scratched, bent or exposed to impact.

Delicate chains and fine details may bend or break when caught or pulled, even when they are manufactured for added strength.

Avoid Water and Chemicals

To help protect the finish of your jewellery, avoid contact with:

  • Water and excessive moisture

  • Perfume and hairspray

  • Lotions and cosmetics

  • Household cleaning products

  • Chlorine and salt water

  • Harsh chemicals

We recommend removing your jewellery before showering, bathing or swimming.

Cleaning Your Jewellery

After wearing your jewellery, gently wipe it with a clean, soft and dry cloth to remove oils, moisture and residue.

Do not use abrasive cloths, harsh cleaning products or chemical jewellery cleaners unless they are specifically suitable for the material and gemstones in your piece.

For jewellery containing natural gemstones, extra care should be taken, as cleaning requirements may vary depending on the type of stone.

Storing Your Jewellery

Store each piece separately in its original Dear Gleam packaging or a soft jewellery pouch.

Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity. To reduce the risk of scratching or tangling, avoid storing multiple pieces together.

Fasten necklaces and bracelets before storing them and lay delicate chains flat whenever possible.

Repairs

Damage caused by normal wear, accidental impact, pulling, snagging or improper care is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Where possible, Dear Gleam may assist with repairs at the customer’s expense. Repair availability, costs and completion times will depend on the condition and design of the item.

Snapped or damaged chains may incur a repair fee, particularly where the damage has resulted from the chain being pulled or caught.
